Biography

Clio Theodoridis, an emerging saxophonist from the rich tradition of the French school, was born in Athens, where she began her musical studies at the Zografou Conservatory. She continued her training in France, initially at the Lyon Conservatory under the direction of Jean-Denis Michat and at the University of Lyon Lumière. Her pursuit of excellence led her to the Strasbourg Higher Music Academy, where she studied with Philippe Geiss, before perfecting her craft at the University of Montreal under the guidance of Jean-François Guay.

Holding a Master’s in Music (MUS) with “Exceptional” distinction from the University of Montreal, Clio Theodoridis also has a degree in performance and a diploma in music teaching (DE) from the Strasbourg Higher Music Academy, as well as a degree in Music and Musicology and a conservatory prize from the Lyon Conservatory.

Her career is marked by a constant commitment to excellence and innovation, honing her skills with renowned masters such as Nikita Zimmin, Arno Bornkamp, the Habanera Quartet, and Julien Petit, and participating in prestigious events like the World Saxophone Congress Saxopen (2015), the Habanera Academy, World Saxophone Day, and the International Music Diaries Workshop.

Currently residing in Quebec, she is a member of Duo Aster and the tenor saxophonist for the Saxologie ensemble, performing at festivals, concert series, and renowned organizations such as Jeunesses Musicales Canada, La Virée Classique de Montréal, the Festival Intime de Musique des Bergeronnes, Les Rendez-vous de Laterrière, and others. On the international stage, she has performed as a soloist and chamber musician at venues including Denkibunka Hall in Nagoya, the Aegean Arts Festival in Crete, Châtelet in Paris, Jiangsu Grand Theater in Nanjing, and at the Shanghai International Arts Festival in China.

Clio has also distinguished herself at the Stockholm International Music Competition (SIMC), where she won third prize, and at the National Young Talents X.O.N. Competition in Athens, where she was a laureate. Since the fall of 2020, she has been sharing her expertise as a teacher at the Conservatoire de Musique de Saguenay, where she continues to pursue her many musical projects successfully
